Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe

Ingredients

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Cocoa or European Dark Chocolate Cocoa

1 cup whole milkEuropean Dark Chocolate Cocoa Tin

2 tbsp. cream

1 dark chocolate truffle or 1 oz. dark chocolate chopped (Optional)

2 cinnamon sticks (you can use powder if necessary)

Pinch nutmeg

1/4 tsp. almond extract


Special (Optional) Additions:

1 oz. Kahlua 

1 oz. Brandy 

Whipped Cream12 Semi Sweet Gourmet Truffle

Orange rinds


Directions: 

Combine milk and cinnamon in a saucepan. 

Heat on low to moderate heat until warm. The milk should taste like cinnamon. Do not allow to boil (it will scald the milk).

Optional orange rinds: If you add orange rinds, stir them in at the end for a few minutes. 

Whisk in hot cocoa powder. 

Add chocolate and stir until melted. 

Removing from heat, stir in the extract. 

Garnish as desired and serve.
